Education:
Occupation: General Manager of ATW Automation in Livonia, MI
Government-related experience: This is my first government position. I held a senior board position for the Michigan Thumb Chapter of Project Management Institute for 5 years.
Why are you running for school board trustee?: I am currently a trustee and I am running again because I want to represent my community and ‘give back? by using my talents and experience to serve others.
What is your plan to improve the district’s economic condition?: It is difficult to improve our district’s economic condition as revenue is state-funded. I do support running the district more like a business and holding people financially accountable for keeping us in the black.
Where do you stand on schools of choice?: My stand on school of choice is like many others, I believe there needs to be bouandaries and limits, not wide open enrollment. Financially it is beneficial to the district, but it also causes strain on the resources. We need to manage and plan this like most other district programs.
How can we improve education overall in the district?: I feel we can improve education the most by focusing on the kids and building community. It sounds simple, but it is not. We need community involvement in our education system. I am here to help.
