Window clinic at historic church

Learn window-repair skills while helping to refurbish a historic church, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, at the former Sashabaw Plains Presbyterian Church, 5331 Maybee Road
The front two windows will be removed, refurbished, and reinstalled that day. Jim Turner, Turner Restoration, and Michigan Historic Preservation Network offers hands-on training in repairing and restoring wood windows.
Registration for the free workshop is 8:30 a.m. breakfast and lunch available for $20. Participation is limited and will be filled on a first-come basis. Visitors and observers are welcome at any time during the workshop.
Training includes weatherization and sustainability benefits, as well as proper care and maintenance of wood windows. The workshop will teach individuals how to keep their existing windows serving another 50-80 years.
