Kruse and Muer Oakland County restaurant is set to move into the former Deer Lake Inn on Dixie Highway after unanimous approval by Independence Township Board.
Casey and Alex Kruse stood before the township board, Jan 31, to request transfer of ownership.
“We’ve really wanted to come to this area for quite some time,? said Casey. ‘My dad’s been negotiating on and off in trying to get us here for about 20 years. We believe Independence is a good place for us to be and we hope you allow us to become part of your community.?
Alex agreed.
“If you guys approve us we make a pledge to Independence Township to really own and operate this like all our family businesses previous,” he said. ‘It will be fresh bread, pizza, sea food, everything you know and love about Kruse and Muer, that’s what we’re hoping to bring.”
The 100 seat restaurant will be called Kruse’s Deer Lake Inn. It will be their sixth location, and should open in late spring.
