The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) recently renewed the Clean Corporate Citizen designation of the General Motors – Orion Assembly facility. According to the DEQ, the plant continues to ‘exemplify corporate environmental responsibility? through its efforts to maintain the state’s environmental resources. The state specifically referred to GM’s successful efforts to reduce lighting costs and its solid waste scrap metal recycling program, as well as its overall strong environmetal compliance record.
