Celebrate River Day June 7

Celebrate River Day at the Paint Creek Fest June 7, noon-3 p.m. This free community event takes place on the banks of Paint Creek in downtown Lake Orion.
Orion Art Center is hosting arts and crafts and fun and games (nominal material fees) at the center. Other activities include fly fishing demonstrations (noon) in Paint Creek by Leigh Hankins, horseshoe demonstrations. (noon) and a hummingbird presentation at the Orion Art Center with Al Chartier at 1:45.
Entertainment starts off with guitarist DJ Brown in Children’s Park gazebo at 12:15, music by Axis in the gazebo at 1 p.m. and music by Dryvel in the gazebo, 2-3 p.m.
Reasonably priced hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, beverages will also be available.

How about exercise, fresh air and a valuable learning opportunity? Be a part of National Trails Day on June 7, 10 a.m. by cycling through historical sites in Orion and Oakland Townships.
You will be guided along a 5.5 mile section of the Paint Creek Trail, stopping at several sites for a brief discussion of the sites? historical value.
A box lunch will conclude the trip in Goodison.
