Ruch to continue soccer career at Marygrove College

Marygrove Soccer Coach Tony Williams and the women’s soccer program received their eighth commitment in next year’s class when Oxford High School’s Sara Ruch signed a 2012-13 Letter of Intent.
‘Sara is exactly the type of student-athlete we target for our program,? Williams said. ‘Her commitment to the classroom and community shows me that she will be an incredible asset as a teammate and ambassador for our program. She is a very skilled player that has a bright future at our level.
‘I expect Sara to come in and compete for a starting spot immediately.?
The impressive signee total showcases the program’s stability and strength as they move forward into Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play next season.
Ruch, a 5?3? versatile athlete, is a two-time captain at Oxford that demonstrates great goalscoring ability from the midfield position.
This spring, Ruch will head into her senior soccer campaign with eight years of soccer experience at the club and high school level combined.
Over that period of time, Ruch has been a key member of local teams such as the Clarkston Soccer Club, Lobos and the Oxford Soccer Club.
Showcasing the true meaning of a student-athlete, Ruch currently boasts an impressive 3.85 GPA as she heads into the final months of her high school career.
The high GPA has led to Ruch to be named a three-time Scholar-Athlete Award winner.
As part of a busy schedule, she also helped promote and lead the Bully Busters program at Oxford High School and Oxford Middle School.
The program was developed to help stop bullying in their community by increasing the youth’s awareness of the unbecoming behavior that affects millions each year.
Ruch’s commitment to character development and her ability to showcase compassion aligns closely with Marygrove’s ?3 C’s? (Competence, Compassion and Commitment) and mission statement.
