Ortonville- The seventh annual season of Beets, Beats & Eats kicks off in the village June 15.
The event takes place every Friday night at Crossman Park during the summer and features a variety of local vendors, acoustic musicians, and a dinner each night provided by local restaurants, churches, or community organizations. Dinner cost ranges from $6 to $8 per person on average. Each night has a different theme, including photo and art contests, pet night, garden exchange, kids night, quilt/tractor show, and more.
For the debut of the 2012 season, Art of Life is sponsoring an art contest and the Edna Burton Senior Center will provide a taco dinner.
‘There will be more fun and exciting things to do this year,? said Debbie Baker, market manager for the event. ‘The quilt and tractor show will be ginormous. It’s going to be a bigger, better, more fun-filled year. You don’t want to miss it, it’s the best thing to do on a Friday night, all summer long.?
This year for the first time, will be a talent show night and a ‘Healing Arts? night, complete with psychic readings, oracle cards, and crystals.
Acoustic musicians are invited to come out and play and vendor space is still available.
Anyone who comes to BB&E can be entered in a free raffle for a market bag filled with prizes from local businesses. 50/50 is also available, with proceeds donated to the Desert Angel to help with sending packages to soldiers overseas.
The first ‘Kids Night? of the BB&E season is planned for June 22, with dinner by Papa Bella’s Pizza and bounce houses provided for free by Valley Tent Rental.
