The Clarkston Boys Freshman Golf team finished their season hitting a high big.
They finished with an overall record 12-2 and took first place at the Clarkston Freshman Invitational and second place at the Saline Freshman Invitational.
The boys beat Troy, 167-171, with Gibson and Rogowski leading with a par of 39.
The team beat the following teams twice during the season: Andover, 172-231, Ryan Zittel led with 41 and 163-240, Zittel led with 38;
Rochester Adams, 167-174, Andrew Reid led with 40, and again 185-203, Andrew Gibson led with 42;
Lahser, 163-225, Gibson led with 37; and 174-241, Zittel led with 42;
Walled Lake Central, 163-185, Gibson led with 38, and 191-224, Gibson led with 44;
and Oxford, 190-206, Gibson led with 45; and 184-189, Gibson led with 44.
They split with Walled Lake Northern during the season. They won 184-195 on May 16 , Gibson led with 41; and lost Walled Lake Northern, April 19, 186-188. Gibson led with a 40.
They lost to Seaholm, 162-167, Gibson and Mitchell Rogowski led with a par of 39.
They took first place at their invitational on May 14 at Fountains Golf Course after scoring 329. The top ten medalists from the team were Gibson, par of 86, and Zittel, par of 87.
They took second at the Saline Freshman Invitational scoring 355, April 13. Hartland took first with 333. Gibson tied for sixth top ten medalist with a par of 86. Other leading performances came from Reid, 92, and Rogowski, 95.
The team is Gibson, Reid, Rogowski, Zittel, Ray Coyle and Hunter McLean. They were coached by Matt Rocha.
