The Gingellville Community Church has extended an invitation to the entire community to come out on June 14 for a free celebration at the church on Baldwin Road.
The Community Celebration will be 1-5 p.m. on the church property. There will be inflatable activities, carnival games and face painting for the kids; and a dunk tank, live music, car show and antique appraisals for the mom and dad. Refreshments such as hot dogs, cotton candy and kettle corn will also be offered, all free of charge.
“We did this last year, and we got the idea from the church my daughter attends in North Carolina,” said Pastor Denny Emmons. “I’ve been here three years, and I’m trying to get the church known in the community. For many years people thought this was a community center.”
Emmons said the church funds the event from their budget, and hopes to make it annual.
“The police and fire department will all be represented,” he said. “We have hot dogs, kettle corn, rides…all free of charge.”
Emmons himself will be manning the dunk tank.
“It shows people that Christians have fun too,” he said.
