Minivans collide on S. Washington; Lake Orion driver injured, ticketed

A 52-year-old Lake Orion woman was cited Thursday by Oxford Village Police Officer Thad Lambris for making an ‘improper turn,? which caused a two-vehicle accident at S. Washington (M-24) and Lincoln streets, in front of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
According to the police report, the woman was southbound in her 1998 Chevy minivan on S. Washington in the right lane, when she began to merge into the left lane, cutting in front of a southbound 1996 Chrysler minivan and causing a collision.
The Chrysler minivan was driven by a 59-year-old Oxford man.
The Lake Orion woman admitted to police that she was attempting to turn into the church parking lot, which caused the accident.
Neither the Oxford driver nor his two passengers were injured. The Lake Orion driver was treated by Oxford firefighters for a minor laceration to the head and transported by ambulance to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the accident, according to police.
