Genevieve M. ‘Jean? Raines, of Oxford, passed away on July 10, 2012. She was 98.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Roy Robert Raines; and dear sister of the late Theodore Majka. Jean is survived by her nieces, Gail Majka (Ed Samples) and Ann Hobbs. She is also survived by her great niece Marianne Campbell; and great nephews, Cody and Connor, all of Corbin, Kentucky. Jean was born in Newburry Port, Massachusetts and shortly thereafter she and the family moved to Michigan. Growing up in Detroit the family would enjoy the summers vacationing in Lake Orion. Eventually Jean relocated to Oxford where she resided for over 30 years. Funeral services were held at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Lake Orion on July 12th.
