Swimmers look to learn from losses

The Oxford Lady Wildcat swimmers are improving with each practice, dive and stroke and Coach Jackie Rank is confident the team will continue its pace.
Last week, the swim team lost a non-league match to Brandon, 99-86 and a league meet to Berkley, 112-76.
‘We have had some great swims and we know where to go from here,? Rank said. ‘The girls need to learn to go after it until they touch the wall.?
Against Berkley, Rank said her team was missing some swimmers due to illness or injury and is confident the tankers will be able to compete with Berkley at the upcoming OAA league meet.
Rank said the addition of Elise Ormiston to the dive group will help Oxford. Ormiston won the diving competition against Berkley with a score of 119.15. The other two divers, Abigail Kronenberg and Laura
Schimmel, are both juniors and are new to diving. ‘I can’t believe how far they have come in such a short time,? said Rank.
Berkley controlled the relay events while the Lady Cats were overpowering in the freestyle events.
Oxford’s record dropped to 1-3 while Berkley improved to 3-1.
The team’s next meet is Thursday at North Farmington High at 6 p.m.
