A Bowling for Buckets fundraiser is Thursday, Oct. 25, from 6-8pm, at Cherry Hill Lanes.
Bowling for Buckets is an event designed to raise funds for Disaster Relief At Work, also know as DRAW. The organization intends to immediately respond and provide supplies and volunteers to areas of the country hit by natural disasters.
DRAW has developed 5-gallon buckets that are designed to provide various supplies needed after a natural disaster that are often forgotten in the general supply chain. Volunteers can get involved by being on a first response team, organizing a supply drive, or packaging buckets.
At the event participating teams will compete with each other in a fun, yet competitive atmosphere. Local/regional personalities from Southeast Michigan will serve as team captains. Among them, WXYT-FM’s Terry Foster, Oakland University Basketball Coach Greg Kampe, Detroit WAZA Soccer Club Coach Dominic Scicluna and mascot of the Detroit Pistons, Hooper.
