Oxford High School Dance Team is holding its first Fall Dance Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Oxford High School from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for girls in kindergarten through eighth grade.
The clinic is $30 and includes a camp T-shirt and an entry for a prize package, as well as water and light snack to be provided.
‘It will be lots of fun,? said OHS Dance Team Coach Jonelle Pariseau. ‘We’re going to play games do some team building exercises, teach kids about the importance of team work and learn a routine which they can showcase to friends and family at the end of the clinic.?
All proceeds from the camp will go to support the dance team’s trip to Florida to compete in nationals. Currently they are almost at $4,000 which is just over the half way mark of their $7,000 goal.
‘It’s a big milestone for us, we’ve worked real hard and the girls have done such a good job of going out there and generating support from the community,? Pariseau said. ‘We really appreciate everything the community has done for us so far. We’re almost there.?
Also the team has a donation site at www.indiegogo.com/ohsdanceteam, where they have set a fund-raising goal of $1,000 on the site.
‘Any amount is a good amount for us. People can donate on that website just a dollar by credit card if they want. It’s a safe a secure site and no concerns in that regard,? she said. ‘Our goal is $1,000, but we keep however much we raise in general so we don’t have to get that 1,000 to cash out.?
Currently the site has raised $120. For more information or to register for the dance clinic call Jonelle at 248-819-0404 or e-mail ohsdance@hotmail.com.
