Voters will cast their ballots on November 6 at polling places designated in their precincts.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Polling places have changed.
You can find your polling place by going to www.twp.independence.mi.us or contacting the clerk’s office. Clarkston residents will cast their votes at the Village Hall at 375 Depot Road.
This year, adults aren’t the only ones encouraged to participate in the election. Kids who accompany their parents to the polls will get to visit with ‘Mr. New Ideas.?
Mr. New Ideas is a character created by trustee candidate Jeremy Mitchell who intends to greet kids at Precincts 9 and 10 (Mt. Zion Church) from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Precinct 12 (Independence Township Library) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Precinct 6 (Clarkston Community Church) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and again at Precincts 9 and 10 (Mt. Zion Church) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
