Clarkston residents got a taste of the holidays a little early during the Easter Seals Michigan and Rudy’s Market Cheers for the Holidays event. From Sauvignon Blancs to brown ale brews, salmon, and meatballs, locals were treated to a flavorful evening at Clarkston Mills Mall on Nov. 27.
Besides the yummy treats on hand, wine tasters were entertained by singer/song writer Jason Wagner and Detroit Red Wings? Karen Newman who sang tunes from her holiday show.
The Cheers for the Holidays event wasn’t just for fun, however.
The silent auction and ticket sales helped raise funds for Easter Seals ??96 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to services that create solutions that change lives,? said Easter Seals President and CEO Bret Wirth.
Children and adults with autism, Down Syndrome and cerebral palsy are among the benefactors of Easter Seals fund raisers.
The 120 people who attended raised $15,000 for Easter Seals Michigan.
Their contributions will fund services for those with substance abuse struggles, serious mental illnesses, and children with speech delays.
Don’t worry if you missed this year’s Cheers for the Holidays because Craig Sharum of Easter Seals Michigan said, ‘we are already talking about doing another one in Clarkston next year.?
