Clarkston Community Garden is signing up Independence Township residents for 10-by-10 plots to plow and garden.
Plots require $25 donation and 10 hours of work in the Community Garden Rows. Harvest from plots go to the individuals. Fruits and vegetables from the Community Garden Rows are donated to local food banks like Lighthouse and Gleaners ? in 2012, 11,000 pounds of food was harvested and donated
The garden is at the northeast corner of Pine Knob and Stickney roads. Expansion this year includes raspberry, rhubarb, asparagus patches. Call 248-625-8223.
