Fewer than 10 percent of all VFW Posts are named an All-State Post and North Oakland VFW Post 334 has achieved that recognition for the fourth year in a row.
Post 334 was recognized as an All-State Post again for the 2012-2013 fiscal year at the VFW State Convention held recently at the Troy Marriott, according to Post Commander James Hubbard.
Hubbard was named to the All-State Commanders team and received a white cap, which was presented at the State Convention on Friday, June 7.
The award was presented to Hubbard by Thomas Tradewell, Sr., Past National Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Post 334 received a number of awards at the State Convention.
The Post sold $29,447.81 of Buddy Poppies, more than any other VFW Post in Michigan, and James Hubbard, Commander of the Post, sold $6,152.53 of Buddy Poppies making him the top seller in the state.
A National Recognition Award was presented to Hubbard at the VFW State Convention.
