Three lucky local ladies received a Magical Makeover as part of the 2013 Women’s Expo held Oct. 17 by the Oxford Chamber of Commerce at the Boulder Pointe Conference Center.
Laura Farwell, nominated by her husband Troy Farwell, was selected because of her brave fight against breast cancer.
‘Laura is a ‘bad ass? and she absolutely deserves to get pampered, especially when she always looks out for everyone even when her health has been at its lowest,? Troy wrote. ‘She has shown grace, power, stamina, love, fear and a deep sense of desire to continue to live and live large as she always has lived.?
Heather Barnette, nominated by her husband Eric Barnette, was selected because her tireless work as a stay-at-home mother of three since being laid off from Oxford Bank in 2012 after 15 years of service.
‘I would dearly love to have her win this as a small token of how much her hard work is appreciated by the family,? Eric wrote.
Barbara Binzer, nominated by her stepdaughter Theresa Saigh, received a makeover because of the fearless way she’s battling breast cancer.
‘Barb is the most giving and selfless person,? Theresa wrote. ?(She) hardly spends a moment to speak of how she’s doing. She’s always interested in how others are doing. Always a smile, always a good word ? that’s how Barb is fighting this fight.?
