Clarkston Holiday Lights Parade marches down Main Street, 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14.
The parade, hosted by Team RUSH, will include commuunity organizations, churches, and groups on floats decorated with colorful Christmas lights for the evening march through downtown Clarkston.
Theme is “Moving to the Groove of the Holidays!? Free registration deadline is Dec. 8. Awards categories include Most Creative, Best Use of Theme, Best Holiday Spirit, Best of Use of Music, Best Overall Parade Entry, and Clarkston School Pride.
Parade route is Renaissance High School on Church Street to Main Street, north to Miller, when west to Holcomb. For more information, check www.teamrush27.net/parade.
Following the parade will be Holiday Lights Night, hosted by Independence Township Parks, Recreation and Seniors in Depot Park, 375 Depot Road.
Activities in the park include tree lighting and message from Santa, at an eight-foot Canaan Fir tree donated by Rattalee Lake Tree Farm, free hot chocolate and coffee, live reindeer, letters to Santa under the gazebo, DJ and strolling carolers, and live nativity by New Hope Bible Church. All free event is for all ages.

Families bundled in their warmest attire and headed to downtown Clarkston for the annual Lighted Parade led by Clarkston High School’s Team RUSH, Dec 10.
They continued the fun in Depot Park for carols, hot beverages and letters to Santa.
