Folks who purchase this newspaper from a member of the Oxford Lions Club are doing their part to help make Christmas a bit merrier for those less fortunate.
The Oxford Leader donated 900 copies of this edition so the Lions Club could conduct its annual Goodfellows Newspaper sales on Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7.
Lions members are braving the cold weather and heavy traffic on the streets of Oxford in order to raise money for the Christmas baskets they distribute every year to local individuals and families in need.
These baskets contain food, new clothing and donated toys.
Extra! Extra!
If you purchased this newspaper from a member of the Oxford Lions Club, then you’ve just helped make Christmas a little merrier for those less fortunate.
The Oxford Leader donated 800 copies of this edition to the Lions Club, so its members could conduct their annual Goodfellows Newspaper sales on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1.
Lions members are braving the cold and traffic at the intersections of Burdick St. and M-24 and W. Drahner and M-24 to raise money for the Christmas baskets they distribute every year to our neighbors in need.
These baskets contain food, new clothing and donated toys for kids because every child deserves to have something under the tree. This year’s drive will benefit 29 individuals and 23 families with children.
