Put your healthy New Year’s resolution into action by participating in the 14th annual Downtown Lake Orion ‘New Year’s Resolution Run.? Beginning at 10am on Wednesday, Jan. 1st, the race offers two options: a 5K for the serious runners, and a 1.5 mile fun run for the rest of us. The race routes circle throughout the historic downtown district.
Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in several age categories. The runner with the best overall time in the 5K will receive a $100 Downtown Lake Orion gift certificate from the Downtown Development Authority.
Register online under ‘Events? at www.downtownlakeorion.org, or at Hanson’s Running Shop, 3 S. Broadway. Entry fees are $25 for pre-registered 5K runners and $20 for pre-registered 1-milers and kids under 12. Race Day registration is $30, and begins at 9am at 51 North Brewing, corner of Broadway and Shadbolt Streets. Shirts will be provided while quantities last.
Following the race a special brunch will be offered at 51 North: Pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee and tea all for only $6! Call 248-690-7367 to reserve your spot.
