Local artist stages winter protest

‘I hate winter!!?
That about says it all for local artist Larry ‘Sinister? Stephens who spray-painted this angry message in big, bold green letters on a snow bank in front of his Mechanic St. home in Oxford Village.
‘I’m sick of it,? he said. ‘We’ve lost our power three times in the past couple weeks. Now, we’re dealing with all this freezing, horrifying cold and the snow. I’m just sick of it. I’m done.?
Stephens, a 1986 Oxford High School graduate, wrote the message to vent his ‘frustration? with a winter that’s already produced an ice storm, more than a foot of heavy snow and bone-chilling subzero temperatures.
‘I wanted to let people know how I feel,? he said. ‘I’ve lived in Oxford all my life and this is the worst (winter) that I can remember.?
If he could go anywhere else in the world right now, Stephens said he’d choose Hawaii. He realizes it’s been a little colder than usual in the sunny tropical paradise, ‘but it’s got to be better than here.?
