Lake Orion Men’s Softball League game report

The following reports are for Lake Orion Men’s Softball League games played on July 10:
Chicago Brothers Pizza needed 10 innings to pull out an 18-7 victory over Deano Macs in National League play in the LOMSL. With the win, Chicago Brothers improved to 10-2 on the season, and remains in sole possession of first place in the National Division. Deano Macs slipped to 3-9.
Coach Steve Bailey singled to open the 10th inning and scored the eventual winning run over Jamie Jamaldine’s RBI double.
Rod Cunningham went 5-for-6 to pace the winners. Bailey Jamaldine and Heath Kinney each went 4-for-6. For Deano Macs, Dave Barkley went 2-for-2 with two home runs and Mike Lanfeer, Tony Horey and Dean Klovski belted four hits each.
DenMat 19, Endodontics & Associates 18: DenMat (6-6) scored the winning run in this National Division battle in the top of the ninth inning when Keith Campbell singled and scored on a single by Mike Gabriel.
Eric Brittingham led the winners (6-6) with a 5-for-7 showing at the plate. Gabriel added a 4-for-5 performance, and Brian McCall finished 4-for-6 with a home run.
Ray McCarrick went 5-for-5 to carry Endodontics (3-9). Mike Mahan added a 5-for-6 clip and Dusty Miller went 4-for-6.
Eagles 19, Wagon Wheel 15: Wagon Wheel (2-10) exploded for 10 runs in the first inning, but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles (7-5) chipped away and took the lead for good in the top of the ninth inning to secure this win in National Division play.
Tommy King’s second homer of the game, a three-run shot, keyed the game-winning, five-run rally in the ninth.
Jay Traylor went 6-for-6 with a three-run homer in the fourth to lead the Eagles, Sanjay Shah went 4-for-5, Steve Luckovitz added a 5-for-6 showing, and King and Roger Bailey each finished 3-for-5.
Ron Biggs and Lance Dubowski both contributed four hits in five at-bats to pace Wagon Wheel. Brian Nelson added a 3-for-4 performance, and Jeff Gentry keyed the opening inning rally with a three-run home run.
G&G Tree Service 18, Boathouse Billiards 1: Home runs by Brian Davenport, Bill Economou, Scott Spencer and Chris Mize led American Division-leading G&G (9-3) to this lopsided victory over Boathouse Billiards (7-5) in a key American Division game.
Econonmou and Davenport went 4-for-4 each, Mize went 3-for-3, and Spencer and Bobby Lawton went 3-for-4 to lead G&G.
Hamlin Pub 12, SOS Mechanical 11: Nathan Spencer scored the winning run on an RBI single by Ricky Slater in the top of the ninth inning as Hamlin Pub picked up this key victory in American Division play.
With the win, Hamlin Pub improved to 8-4 and remains tied for second place in the American Division with Advantage Investors.
Sam Iafrate went 4-for-4 and knocked in the tying run in the top of the ninth to pace Hamlin Pub (8-4) Slater and Matt Sliwa each went 3-for-4.
Doug Smith, Billy Acton, Mike Miscovich, Tim Scribner, Kevin Boyt and Bill Schroeder each went 3-for-4 for SOS, which slipped to 7-5.
Advantage Investors 26, Advanced Concrete Design 17: Advantage Investors improved to 8-4 and kept pace in the American Division with this easy victory over Advanced Concrete Design (2-10). Grant St. Amour and Roy Robbins each went 5-for-5 to spark the winners. Brett Slocum chipped in with a 4-for-6 showing.

The following are game reports for Lake Orion Men’s Softball League games played on July 24.
G&G Tree Service used an 11-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning to earn a come-from-behind 23-14 victory over Advanced Concrete Design in American Division action. Trailing 14-12 with two outs in the eighth, G&G exploded for 11 unanswered runs en route to the victory.
Brad Cline paced the winners with a perfect 5-for-5 showing at the plate. Brian Dennison added a 4-for-5 performance, Chris Mize went 3-for-4, and Bill Parker was 2-for-2. No stats were available for Advanced Concrete Design.
Hamlin Pub 30, Advantage Investors 10: Hamlin Pub kept pace with G&G Tree Service for the division lead with this victory over Advantage.
Eric Davenport’s (5-for-7) three-run homer in the sixth inning helped Hamlin pull away from a 5-5 deadlock with nine unanswered runs. Ricky Slater (6-for-6) added a grand slam in the ninth inning as Hamlin padded its lead with 10 more runs in the final frame.
Darrin Sliway also homered for the winners and hit for the cycle in a 5-for-6 performance. Bobby Heist and Nate Spencer each went 6-for-6 to aid Hamlin’s 43-hit attack.
Kevin Pesta and Ray Wilson each went 3-for-4 to carry Advantage Investors. Bobby Hazemy and Bobby Bragen were each 2-for-2, and Tommy Holcomb hit a home run.
SOS Mechanical 19, Boathouse Billiards 16: Kevin Sims went 4-for-4 and Billy Acton went 3-for-4 with a home run in leading SOS to this victory in American Division play. Coach Tim Scribner also went 3-for-4 for the winners. Doug Smith, Dwayne Smith and Bill Schroeder also had three hits apiece for SOS. Not stats were available for Boathouse.
Eagles 10, Denmat 7: Coach Derek Stark rose to the occasion with a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Eagles the lead for good at 9-7 in this National Division battle.
Stark, Phil Damico and Dave Hinman each went 2-for-3 to pace the Eagles. Keith Campbell went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the second inning to lead Denmat. Coach Mark Brancheau and Eric Brittingham chipped in with three hits in five-at-bats each.
Chicago Brothers 25, Wagon Wheel 24: Chicago Brothers maintained its strangle-hold on first place in the National Division with this narrow victory over Wagon Wheel. CB held off a nine-run rally in the top of the ninth to secure the win.
Ralph Adranga turned in a sparkling 6-for-6 performance to boost CB. Kyle Fritz went 5-for-6, while Tommy Williams and Derek Henley each went 4-for-5. Lance Dubowski, Ron Biggs, Travis Fuchs and Charlie Baker each went 5-for-6 to lead Wagon Wheel. Brian Nelson and Larry Seron combined for a 5-for-5 showing at the No. 10 spot in the batting order.
Endodontics & Associates 13, Deanomac 12: Dusty Miller scored the winning run on an RBI single by Troy Russnell in the top of the eighth as Endodontics held on for this win.
Russnell went 4-for-4, Miller went 4-for-5, and Ray McCarrick went 3-for-4 to pace the winners. Coach Buster Krueger went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs to carry Deanomac.
