Lake Orion girls? varsity basketball team were road warriors last week, going on the road and winning all three games.
The lady Dragons started the week at Royal Oak where they pulled out a gutsy win over the Ravens 37-34. Nicole Krier and Delaney Haan led the Dragons with 11 points apiece and Melanie Gagen chipped in 6.
The second road contest of the week was against league opponent Birmingham Groves.
After a hot start from Groves, the Lady Dragons took over and dominated in a 66-36 win over the Eagles.
Cheyenne Lada and Gagen led the charge with 12 points each and Hannah Hamay added nine in the impressive offensive output for the Dragons.
The final road contest came against the Falcons of Rochester. The game was a physical battle all night but the Dragons prevailed 35-29. Haan had nine points and Krier and Evelyn Wischmeyer each put in six.
The wins last week leave the Dragons at 12-6 overall and in 4th place in the OAA White division with a 7-5 record.
This week the Dragons concluded their regular season with a road contest’Tuesday’versus cross-town rival Oxford. The final regular season game is Thursday at 7 p.m.’against Rochester Adams at home.
The final home game is a breast cancer awareness game so please come out and see the girls play and support breast cancer awareness.
