Masked figures cut a mean rug
The historic Addison Oaks ballroom was transformed into an elegant Mardi Gras themed celebration for the Orion Art Center’s 2014 Gala fundraiser March 1st.
This art supporting group of patrons thoroughly enjoyed the spirit of the evening, donning masks and costumes along with gowns and glittering jewels, as the North Oakland Dixieland band wove its way through the crowd playing hot jazz.
Guests dined, danced and bid on the chance to take home fabulous prizes including art, autographed sports memorabilia, spa treatments, trips to New Orleans and resorts.
Lake Orion resident Artist Laura Locke was named Artist of the Year and guests admired her exquisitely textured mixed media creations that mirror vintage images.
Chosen Patron of the Arts, Brenda Pescia was honored for many hours dedicated to volunteering for the Art Center’s pottery studio, Dragon on the Lake festival and Boardof directors.
Sponsors for the evening included McLaren Cancer Institute, Waste Management, M & B Graphics, Diamond Dave’s Creative Jewelers, Lake Orion Review, Community Lifestyles, Oakland Press, Quicken Loans, OCS Design, Lymtal International, The Chadwick Group, North Bloom’eld Properties, Belle Visage Laser Med Spa, Honigman Miller Schwartz & Cohn, and Spa on the Lake.
Total funds raised are still being configured.
