Tennis players will have a reconditioned court to play on this sping at Clintonwood Park.
The $206,000 project will be funded mostly by a grant from the United States Tennis Association.
Independence Township officials have seen an increased use of the tennis courts.
‘We have been working closely with the schools and their tennis professionals on programs that can support the whole community,? said Ken Elwert, director of Parks, Recreation and Seniors for the township.
Elwert said his budget recommendation for the courts included funding including the use of 20,0000 United States Tennis Association grant funds.
The grant is for $200,000. The Township Board approved the grant and bid for the work from T&M Asphalt of Milford.
