Seuss Night

Bailey Lake Elementary students jumped from room to room last Friday night for the school’s annual Seuss Night celebration.
Activities included making the favorite gooey Oobleck, making a red and white striped hat, eating a hat snack and a Dance Off on Mulberry Street.
A popular stop was the cake walk were hundreds of treats waited to be won and eaten.
Students and family members also tried out their skills in Mr. Brown can play hockey, can you?, Scoot to Shoot, the Grinch Goes Golfing, Throw That Football, and One Shot, Two Shot.

What better way to celebrate March is Reading Month than to celebrate one the most famous authors in history, Dr. Seuss, at Bailey Lake Elementary, March 26?
Bailey Lake Elementary awarded visitors lots of goodies and activities as people filled the halls in celebration at the free event in honor of Dr. Seuss.
The writer would have been 114 on March 2. His books, such as The Grinch, Green Eggs and Ham, The Lorax and the Cat in the Hat, are just a few of the reasons the colorful character is celebrated for his magic with words. Seuss, a poet and cartoonist, combined his talents to teach children.
During his lifetime, Theodor Seuss Geisel won two academy awards, two Emmy Awards, a Peabody award and a Pulitzer prize.
Kids, siblings and their families were able to follow along down the halls and partake in many activities and games. Visitors crafted goodies, got their face painted and were awarded entertainment from the Clarkston High School Mime Troop.

Bailey Lake Elementary students were found playing games and answering to Dr. Seuss names last Wednesday at their annual Seuss Night.
Families found out the answers to many questions like: Can you jump as long as Principal Glenn Gualtieri is tall? Can you shoot marshmallows and hit targets on the wall? What about play with a cat? Or make a crazy hat? What can you do with Ooblek? Definitely not write a check!
