?? When Keatington resident ‘Ben Boudro learned one of his client’s ‘boyfriend needed six treatments of chemotherapy to prevent the loss of his leg, Buodro jumped into gear.
?? Buodro, who owns Xceleration Sports in Auburn Hills, approached 24-year-old Brie Sevik after she had missed more than a week of classes to ask what was up.
?? Sevik had just married 24-year-old Jake Duvall after the two learned Duvall had stage three sarcoma cancer growing on this inside of his quadriceps muscle.
?? Buodro, with a workout facility at his finger tips and the desire to help the couple in need, put together his first bootcamp-styled workout class dedicated to fighting cancer.
?’The Xceleration Cancer Kick Workout will take place’May 30 at 9 a.m.’at Xceleration Sports, located at 3951 Joslyn Rd.
?? ‘I’ve only been going to Xceleration for a few months, so we were really floured by the generosity. We’ve felt very overwhelmed with support,’Sevik said.
??? Buodro hopes to raise more than $5,000 with the full body workout class, which will use bodyweight, dumbbells, battle ropes, kettle balls and other various pieces of equipment designed to work out fitness types of all levels. For each newcomer who signs up for the class, by calling?248-459-4459, Budro will donate $10.
?? All proceeds will go to the Duvalls.
?? ‘We can seriously help this young man,? Boudro said. ‘I want this event to help Jake and Brie during this tough time in their lives. I want the people of Lake Orion to see how strong of an impact we can be on somebody else’s life.?
?? More than 50 people have signed up for the charity workout, with the hope of encouraging even more.??
? ‘The newlyweds plan to use the costs for medical expenses and will also donate extra funding to the National Sarcoma Foundation.
?? ‘Fitness takes a lot of work, but it is always easier to do when you have people supporting you. Charity is the same thing. They both are aimed at allowing people to live better lives. Why not combine the two and go all out?? Buodro said.
?? ?? Boudro is a certified collegiate strength coach and certified personal trainer, and a former strength and conditioning coach from Michigan State University.
