Varsity raises $800 for Special Olympics

The Clarkston Wolves Varsity soccer team hosted the Second Annual Special Olympics soccer game, Sept. 20.
During the night, two Special Olympics soccer teams took the field for the night – the Lake Orion Wild Dragons against the Rochester Knights.
It was the Wild Dragons with the win over the Rochester Knight with a score of 14-9.
‘It was a great night for all. Although the winners of the match were the Wild Dragons, the real winners were those who participated and were in the stands that night,? said Paula Suddon, event coordinator.
‘The smiles on the faces of the Special Olympians as well as the varsity soccer players were priceless,? she added.
The varsity soccer team raised $800 which will be donated to the Special Olympics of Michigan.
‘I’m very proud of our program and the boys for supporting such a great event,” added Curtis Payment, head coach for the boys varsity soccer team.?”I hope we can continue to grow the game each year. The support from the people of Clarkston was greatly appreciated. Judging from all the smiles the game was a huge success.?
