Amidst the usual walkers, joggers and bicyclists, another group will be using the 14.2-mile Polly Ann Trail on Saturday, Oct. 24 in the hopes of satisfying their unnatural hunger for human flesh. That’s right, the zombies are coming.
The Polly Ann Trail Management Council will host its second annual Zombie Fun Run fund-raiser.
Start time is 6:12 p.m.
The 3-mile race, which will begin and end at the Orion Township Recreation Center on Joslyn Rd., consists of two types of participants ? runners and zombies.
Runners will try to avoid having special flags stolen by zombies along the trail. The top runners who finish the race with at least one flag will be the winners.
Last year, the fund-raiser paid for a bicycle fix-it station along the trail in Orion Township. This year, the hope is to raise enough to add two more stations, one in Oxford and another in Leonard.
Folks interested in entering the Zombie Fun Run can do so by visiting active.com ? key words are ‘Orion Township? and ‘zombie.?
Volunteers are needed for this event. Those interested are asked to send an e-mail to patmctm@gmail.com.
