Trottin? for turkeys

The Oxford Twp. Parks and Rec. Dept. held its annual Turkey Trot Saturday morning at Seymour Lake Park.
Fifty-two runners participated in the 5-kilometer race, while two folks participated in the 2-kilometer walk.
First place winners in each age-based category received a free frozen turkey from the Oxford Meijer, which sponsored the event.
Male winners included Leyton Zerba, Espen Lehnst, Kevin Shi, Alex Pollack, Jason Eldridge, Greg Thomas, Curtis Wright, Michael Curtis, and Tom Wascha.
Female winners were Emma Thompson, Emma Long, Kerstin Hufstedler, Allison Maynard, Jessica Niespolo, Peggy McQueen, Liz Hendershott and Joan Wascha.

They trotted for their health.
They trotted for the fun of it.
But most of all, they trotted for turkeys.
A total of 90 runners and walkers participated in this year’s ‘Turkey Trot? held Saturday at Seymour Lake Township Park.
Conducted by the Oxford Township Parks and Recreation Department, the annual event consists of folks either running a 5-kilometer course or walking a 2-kilometer route.
First place finishers in each age category received a frozen turkey, compliments of the Oxford Meijer.
A total of 21 birds were given away this year. The only thing colder than the turkeys were the participants and spectators.
