The varsity boys? basketball team took two more losses last week on the court, bringing their record to 0-5.
The Wildcats started the week with a hard 60-50 loss against West Bloomfield on Jan. 6. After a slow start, scoring just 13 points the first half, the Wildcats rallied in the second half to close the gap, but time ran out.
‘I wasn’t happy with the outcome,? said Head Coach Dave Brown. ‘But the boys battled the whole time and never gave up.?
The Wildcats scoring leader was Jordan Jadan with 30 points.
In their home-opener, Oxford hosted Avondale, where the Wildcats lost to the Yellow Jackets 84-53. Brown said ‘turnovers and offensive rebounds were a killer.?
‘You can’t give a good team extra position and we did,? he said.
While the loss marks the boys fifth straight, Brown noted the players have ‘great attitude and work ethic.? He also believes they will turn it around at some point.
‘We are hungry to get a win,? he said.
The boys will battle against Farmington on Friday at home. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
