NOTA OPERATING BUDGET
The NOTA Board will hold a Public Hearing of the proposed 2015 NOTA Operating Budget on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. at the NOTA Offices located at 467 E Jackson Street, Lake Orion, MI 48362
The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.
A copy of the proposed 2015 NOTA Operating Budget is available on September 5, 2014 and on file in the NOTA office for public inspection during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 467 E Jackson St, Lake Orion, MI.
This notice is posted in compliance with Public Act 267 of 1976 as amended (Open Meeting Act), MCL 41.72a(2)(3) and the Americans With Disabilities Act.
NOTA will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting/hearing. NOTA is requesting $48,641.45 for Federal Section 5317 operating assistance; and capital assistance for Federal Section 5317 of $46,000 and $11,500 of state capital assistance for one 21 foot vehicle with a heavy duty vehicle lift.

All citizens are advised that the North Oakland Transportation Authority, as the lead agency, and the other Transportation Plan Committee Members have prepared a Coordinated Public Transit Human Service Plan for the non-urban area of Oakland County as required by the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient, Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). Grantees under any of the three sections covered by this act (Job Access Reverse Commute Federal Section 5316, New Freedom Initiative Federal Section 5317, and Elderly and Person with Disabilities Programs Federal Section 5310) are required to be a part of a locally developed transportation plan and meet all requirements in order to receive federal funding for fiscal year 2007 and beyond. The Oakland County Non Urban Coordinated Public Transit Human Service Plan has identified needs of transportation serving the disabled, seniors, transit dependent and low income residents and has applied strategies to meet those needs.
All citizens are advised that North Oakland Transportation Authority has applied for 2008 Job Access Reverse Commute Federal Section 5316 and matching state dollars for operating and capital assistance for job access transportation services. The total Capital Budget requested is $136,000 for three expansion vans with wheelchair lifts, mapping system and leases. The total operating budget requested is $351,350 for expansion, weekend and nightly service for the disabled, seniors, low income and transit dependent residents.
