However, the Blackhawks could ultimately not overcome a 4-0 first-half deficit and fell to Fenton 4-3. The Blackhawks are now 4-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in Flint Metro League play.

Coach Nathan Hunter said the Blackhawks are capable of making a run during the home stretch of the league season.
“Overall, we’re right in the middle of the pack,” he said. “We’re very competitive with all the teams. I think we can definitely improve and play stronger than we have.”
On Sept. 18, junior goalie Steve Kumpar stopped 17 shots and earned his fourth shutout of the season as the Blackhawks defeated Royal Oak Dondero 3-0.
Morales, junior Joey Smith and junior Mike Cybulski each scored goals for the Blackhawks.
