Alfred Lee Steinhoff

Alfred Lee Steinhoff of Goodrich passed away peacefully in the comfort of home, surrounded by family on Sunday, April 16, 2017.

He was 67.

He was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease (a rare brain disease) in April 2015. He received in home hospice for the remainder of his life.

Lee was born in Flint on May 5, 1949 and moved to a farm in Goodrich in 1957, when he was 8-years-old.

He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1967 and from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1973, with a bachelor’s degree in social science.

He was accepted into medical school, but decided to pursue a career in real estate instead. He became a successful realtor and his land developments included Warwick Groves, Windfield, High Grove, Pine Meadows, Field Stone and Stonehill.

Traveling and adventure was a great love of Lee’s and he visited countries on every continent. His son, Kyle, was able to travel with him in England, China, and Africa.

Lee loved entertaining at Windfield, the home of his dreams, hosting many events there, such as a luncheon for the Goodrich Silver Fox Group; his sister’s wedding; two memorial services; and numerous Christmas parties.

Loving music, Lee played the piano and enjoyed singing at many gatherings for family and friends. He was thrilled to be a father and grandfather, loving the title “Grandpa Lee.”

He is survived by his son, Kyle; two grandsons, Christian and Sabastian; brothers, Bill (Pat), Howard (Jill), Dan, Richard, Allen (Georgia)and Carl (Paula); sisters, Ardis (Arch) Bowers, Linda (Wayne) Jackson, and Susan (Kevin); sister-in-law, Lois Steinhoff; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth Steinhoff; brothers, Jim, David and Steve; sister, Adelma Medford and nephew, Norm Bowers.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at Atlas Valley Country Club, 8313 Perry Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Luncheon will follow the service.
