Canadian caught for Internet sex solicitation

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department’s Computer Crimes Unit arrested a London, Ontario man in Orion Township on Nov. 2, after he allegedly tried to arrange sex over the Internet with a 13-year-old boy.
The 42-year-old man, whom OCSD investigators expected to seek felony warrants against on Nov. 3, was arrested at a restaurant in Orion where he was to have been meeting with the 13-year-old boy.
The man found OCSD detectives instead, who had been posing as the boy on the Internet after the boys’ parents alerted them to the scheme after the man allegedly tried to involve their son in a relationship.
Detectives posed as the boy online to arrange the meeting. Investigators say the man could face possible charges of using the Internet for sexually abusive activity and sexually abusive activity, both felonies carrying 20 year sentences.
