All three of the Clarkston High School bowling teams came out on top Sunday, when they completed a sweep of Waterford Mott. The competition was held at the Wonderland Bowl in Commerce Township.
Three of the Clarkston keglers contributed exceptionally high scores at the meet. Steve McGarthland, for example, shot a 234; Bobbie Scott, who finished with a perfect 300 game two weeks ago, pitched in with a 234, and Amber Astin of the girls’team finished with a 279 game. The total scores by team finish were as follows:
Clarkston Varsity – 1,818
Waterford Mott – 1,794
Clarkston Girls? Team – 1,448
Clarkston Jayvees – 1,491
Waterford Mott – 1,545
Despite the higher point total of Waterford Mott, Clarkston was declared the winner of the competition due to points earned in previous competition.
