Longtime Oxford physician passes away

Rodman C. Jacobi, MD passed away January 14, 2004 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He was 80.
Dr. Jacobi practiced family medicine in Oxford from 1955 to 1975.
Born in Detroit on Feb. 21, 1923, Dr. Jacobi served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946.
In 1949, he was graduated from the University of Michigan and went on to Wayne State Medical School from which he was graduated in 1953.
He came to Oxford in 1955 following an internship and medical residency in Saginaw. In 1975, he closed his Oxford practice and accepted a position as an Associate Professor of Family Practice in the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University.
Dr. Jacobi retired from MSU in 1988 to enjoy his hobbies of reading, golf and travelling to visit friends and family. He moved to Pembroke Pines, Florida in 2001.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucy Jacobi and their children Ed Jacobi of Harbor Springs; Cindy Jacobi-Garcia (Emilio Garcia) of Pembroke Pines, Florida; Ann Jacobi-Grost (Mike Grost) of Annapolis; Maryland, Major John (Lilli) Jacobi of Madison, Alabama (who is currently serving in the Persian Gulf); and Tom (Kristine) Jacobi of Spring Valley, California.
Dr. Jacobi is also survived by “special grandchildren” Lucy, Sebastian, Chloe and Michelle; mother Grace Jacobi of Seneca, South Carolina; and sister Nancy (Bob) Littleson of Seneca, South Carolina.
