Goodrich— The Goodrich Martians Girls Varsity Basketball team (10-0 & 19-0 overall) perfect season continued last week en route to the Flint Metro League Championship game Feb. 23 at Flushing High School.
The Lady Martians path to the league title game started Feb. 16 before a standing-room-only crowd at Goodrich taking down defending division champion Lake Fenton 61-48 and winning the Stars Division. GHS Soph. #12 Kayla Hairston 16 points, five rebounds and three assists; GHS Jr. #2 Lucy Rafferty 13 points, four rebounds; GHS Sr. #11 Lexi Kosmowski, nine points and nine rebounds; GHS Jr. #1 Ella Place nine points and Baylor Lauinger seven assists.
Then on Feb. 20, the Martians who led 33-13 at half and 43-19 after three quarters defeated Linden 50-23 at Goodrich.
GHS Soph. #22 Tanner Schramm 15 points and four assists; GHS Soph. #12 Kayla Hairston 11 points; GHS Jr. #2 Lucy Rafferty nine points & four rebounds; GHS Froh. #4 Baylor Lauinger six rebounds, seven assists and four steals and GHS #23 Jr. Ella Place four steals.
