Lake Orion — From April 4-7, the Goodrich Girls Powerlifting team is heading to the USAPL High School National power lifting meet in Baton Rouge. La.
GHS Kyleigh Randall, Lilah Konkle and The Johnny Candiloro will be lifting in the Junior Varsity competition. Randall is seeking to defend the 2023 title which she won in Myrtle Beach last year.
GHS Varsity Evelyn Edenburn and Abby Stefanski will be completing in the varsity competition. Edenburn tied for the varsity National title 2023 and is looking to win it outright this year.
The national title bid is the culmination of a strong year for the team. On March 9, the Goodrich Powerlifting team competed in the MHSPLA 2024 State Powerlifting State Championship at Lake Orion High School.
GHS Senior Evelyn Edenburn had an amazing record breaking 395 pound squat, 175 pound bench and 415 pound deadlift finishing the day with a 985 pound total a state record. She was the Michigan State Champion in the 242 pound division. Abby Stefanski was eighth in the 242 pound division; Madison Goltry was ninth in the 242 pound plus division.
