Diplomas for vets

Veterans of World War II and the Korean War have a chance to receive a high school diploma.
Public Act 181 of 2001, as amended, authorizes the board of Lake Orion Community Schools to award a high school diploma to eligible veterans.
The veteran must meet all the following requirements:
? Be at least 65 years of age or, if deceased, have reached the age of 65 by the date of death.
? Enlisted or drafted into the US Armed Forces before graduating from high school and between Dec. 16, 1940 and Dec. 31 1946 or June 27, 1950 and Jan. 31, 1955.
? Enrolled in a high school of the district to which application is made at the time of enlistment or draft.
? Didn’t subsequently graduate from high school.
? Served under honorable conditions during WWII or the Korean War.
The application form may be completed by the veteran of on his behalf by a spouse, brother or sister, child or grandchild.
