Fund-raiser dance may yield more than child’s play

Goodrich – Funds are still needed to develop Goodrich playgrounds, says Suzanne Taylor, Goodrich Community Playground Committee spokesperson.
The school playgrounds will also be used by the community, pointed out Taylor, who feels playgrounds are crucial. More than just an optional recreational outlet, playgrounds are places for children to develop social and teamwork skills that will be later used in sports, school activities, and as adults.
Tickets are currently on sale for this spring’s playground fund-raiser dance, ‘An Enchanting Evening?.
Slated to begin at 6 p.m. April 3 in the Goodrich Middle School cafetorium, the evening will include hors d’ouevres, dinner, dancing, and opportunity to bid on items and services, such as an autographed Ben Wallace jersey, a Somerset Salon Day Spa package, six special occasion cakes of your choice, a reversible Red Wings jacket, a Great Wolf Lodge Traverse City ‘Wet and Wild? package, A Wojo’s custom-designed landscape consultation, or tickets for four to a DTE summer concert, including dinner and VIP parking.
Visa and MasterCard will be accepted for auction purchases.
Tickets: $30 each, can be purchased at school offices or during school events. Proceeds will go to the playground fund.
