Downtown Oxford’s Merge Studio & Gallery is hosting a costume contest as part of the Tuesday, July 2 Lone Ranger movie sneak preview event at the Oxford 7 Theater (48 S. Washington St.).
All 259 of the ticket-holders who attend this sold-out event are invited to dress up as either the Lone Ranger or Tonto, his faithful American Indian companion, and enter Merge’s costume contest.
Merge will have a contest table set up from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the pre-movie party in the Oxford Bank parking lot.
Attendees dressed as either one of the film’s iconic figures will be photographed by Merge staff, who will serve as the judges.
The winning Lone Ranger and winning Tonto will be announced during a special gathering at Merge, located at 18 N. Washington St., immediately following the movie.
Each winner will receive $100 in gift certificates to local businesses.
