July
~~~A team from Palazzo di Bocce took the National Club title in St. Louis and advanced to the world championships in Brazil.
~~~Lake Orion helped to host 86 boys 15 and under basketball teams during the AAU summer tournament.
~~~Over 200 runners participated in the inaugural ‘Jingle in July? 5-mile run/hike around Canterbury Village.
August
~~~Lake Orion resident Adam Timpf aced a par-four hole at Springfield Oaks in Davisburg.
~~~The LOHS football team opened their season with a 35-0 win over Troy, led by receiver David Wurst’s 254 yards.
September
~~~The Dragons topped Adams 42-21 on the gridiron. It was their first win over the Rochester school since 2002.
~~~The LOHS girls basketball team had four consecutive wins of 30 points or more, as they started the season 5-1.
October
~~~The LOHS boys soccer team fell to Adams 2-1 in a district semifinal at LOHS.
~~~The football team tops Farmington Harrison on Homecoming, then beats Clarkston 32-8 to cap an undefeated regular season and win their first outright OAA I title.
November
~~~The LOHS boys cross country team finished 10th at the state meet, where Ryan Ziolko earned All-State status. Allie Hock was All-State for the girls team.
~~~The LOHS girls swim team won the OAA II league meet and placed 15th at the Division I state meet, led by Katrin Vetter’s pair of top-five finishes.
~~~Clarkston eliminated top-ranked Lake Orion 34-14 in a district final at Dragon Stadium.
~~~The cagers won their first ever district title in girls basketball, before falling 42-38 at Chippewa Valley in regional action.
December
~~~The wrestling team placed third at its home invite on Dec. 2, led by Allen Sigler’s undefeated day. The team also placed second at the Oakland County meet, behind Clarkston.
~~~The boys basketball squad returned to the court and avenged their loss to the Wolves in last year’s district with a 51-43 win at home on Dec. 15.
~~~The hockey team got off to a strong start in league play, going undefeated in their first seven OAA II contests to take the early lead with 13 points.
