A plaque will be placed on or near the gazebo in Children’s Park in the village, dedicating it to the memory of Stan Sweet.
Sweet’s $25,000 contribution to the village provided funds for the gazebo. The Lake Orion Village Council voted on May 12 to purchase a Holly bronze plaque and small pedestal, to be dedicated to Sweet for his generous contributions to the community.
The cost for the plaque and pedestal were not yet know, and village manager JoAnn Van Tassel said the village would be obtaining it through the Village Trophy Shop.
