…to Relay for Life participants
Dear editor,
Thanks so much to all those who put forth effort at Orion’s Relay for Life event.
My husband Doug and I, as cancer survivors, were with you in spirit last weekend, if not in person. We were going through a 9-day hospital stay due to complications with the second round of chemo to battle my latest bout of breast cancer, a different kind this time.
As I struggle through treatments, I am heartened by our caring community and all the folks like yourselves who give so much hope and positive support to ones like myself when we need it most. Thanks again.

…for a perfect Paint Creek Carnival
Dear editor,
Paint Creek Elementary did it again. Based on the number of people who cam out, the smiles on faces and number of snow cones sold, the second annual PC Elementary Carnival last Friday was an outstanding success.
The offer of free fun to all deserves recognition. PC staff, you’re the best. Teachers can never be overrated. To Kathy Armstrong and the entire PTO, thank you for all you do for our children.
To the Grandfather who donated his change when we could not break a $20 for cotton candy, thank you for the generosity. And finally to all those who enjoyed the fun, and those who missed out, mark June 2011 on your calendars for the third annual event.
As my family gets ready to leave Paint Creek Elementary and move on to middle school, this time is bittersweet. Jake and Jackie are strong students taking positive experiences with them. Mrs Ammerman, Mrs Adragna, Ms. Spencer, Miss Wrobleski, Mrs Storts, Miss Pelltier, Mrs Boyer, Mrs Babich and Mr Thorpe. Mrs Smith, Mrs Ronan and Mrs Hill too, we will never forget you.

…for a great 8th grade graduation
Dear editor,
Kudos to committee members, volunteers and people who donated to the 8th grade ‘Coney Island Celebration? at Waldon Middle School.
A lot of effort and hard work went into this event, which consisted of an Obstacle Bounce House, Minute to Win It and various other games, DJ, lots of food, Dragon bag with water bottle and memory book for each student, a tremendous number of prizes and most of all, a dunk tank. Mr. Groya, Mr. Bernia and Mr. Farrell were great sports.
Thank you to everyone who made this event a memorable one for Waldon’s 8th grade graduates.
Additionally, I would like to say I was very impressed with the awards ceremony.
The speeches delivered by the principal, assistant principal and the students were very motivational.
All-in-all, the entire evening was one to be remembered.
