Accident goes unnoticed for seven hours, turns out fatal

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating a single motor vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality, Sunday evening.
The accident, which happened on W. Silverbell, involved a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier which crashed through two warning signs and into two pieces of construction equipment near the bridge construction site.
Deputy reports indicate the crash occurred around 10:20 p.m., however it was not discovered and reported until 5:45 Monday morning. The driver, assumed to be a 35-year-old Auburn Hill man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identification indicates he was a resident of Mexico City, Mexico. According to reports, there were no documentation records for being in the United
States.
The Sheriff’s Department believes intoxicants were involved in the crash as a strong smell of alcohol was present at the crash site. No evidence of a second vehicle was present. The victim’s name is being withheld until his family can be notified.
According to reports, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
