Accident on M-24

A chain reaction accident sent motorcyclist and Orion Township resident Justin Pike, 23, to the hospital in critical condition last Thursday morning. The preliminary police investigation reported a Ford F-150 pick-up truck driven by an Oxford Township man driving southbound on M-24 hit a Pontiac Grand Am from behind that had slowed for traffic. The force of the impact pushed the Grand Am, driven by a Lapeer County man, into the left lane of northbound traffic and into Pike’s path. Pike made an evasive maneuver to avoid the collision, causing him to lose control and fall from the motorcycle. At press time, Pike is off life support and now in critical-guarded condition, according to the Lake Orion Police Department. Pictured; LOPD Lt. Harold Rossman investigates the accident. Photo by J.
