In life, they fought, sacrificed and bled for their country and our liberty.
Now, they peacefully slumber within the earth.
But they are not forgotten as we speak their names, praise their deeds and honor their service every Memorial Day.
Addison Township residents and local veterans gathered in the historic Lakeville Cemetery Saturday afternoon to remember those who selflessly gave up all of their tomorrows for our today.
Approximately 170 veterans are buried in the cemetery on E. Drahner Rd. Each one has an American flag adorning their grave.
Following the ceremony, those in attendance gathered to break bread and enjoy the afternoon as friends and neighbors.
